Margit Holakoui

Margit is from Pasadena and attended local schools except for a few years in England, Norway and Spain. She graduated from CSULA with a BA in Art with an Art History emphasis. Margit began working at local florists in the 1970s and was hired as a floral designer for Towle Silver after college. She also free-lanced for premiere Beverly Hills designer, Arthur Simon. With Arthur, Margit was involved with creating arrangements for movie premieres, hotel grand openings, celebrity weddings and award shows.
Margit opened her first store in 1984 in Monrovia. Realizing she immediately needed more space, she and her husband, Ali, bought a commercial corner on Foothill Blvd. in Arcadia where Margit Holakoui Florist is still located. Margit and Ali with daughter Aleah also own Robert's Wholesale Florist, providing fresh flowers and supplies to the public.
Margit is a member of the San Marino League, which provides scholarships for Fine Art majors at Art Center College of Design and supports the Japanese Gardens at The Huntington Library, Art Collections & Botanical Gardens. She is also a Clockwatcher in the National Charity League, San Marino Chapter.

Aleah Holakoui

Aleah Holakoui is the next generation of Margit Holakoui Florist. From the days of sleeping under her mom’s design table, Aleah has come a long way. After attending California Lutheran University, Aleah was inspired to get her certification in meeting and event planning with a specialty in destination weddings. Along with this expertise, she brings years of experience in the events industry.
From beachside weddings in San Diego and Orange counties to decadent desert fetes, boat regattas in Lake Havasu to New Year’s Eve parties in Las Vegas, intimate dinner parties in the comfort of your own home and far beyond; designing and managing memorable events is in her blood.
Creating is her passion and taking organic, European design to the next level is what is in the master plan for Aleah. With no detail overlooked, you’re sure to get exquisite arrangements for years to come.

Margit has over 40 years of experience in the floral and events industry, and over 25 in business for herself, giving her and edge that not all florists today have. She has done hundreds of weddings from 50 to 500 guests, touching tribute pieces for memorial services and funerals, statement designs for museums and art galleries and so much more. From a single rose to full production, Margit provides a creative, professional, memorable experience.
